the sensor bar is what allows the wii remote to be used as a pointer. it is a separate piece because it needs to be placed eithe on top of or underneath the television that the wii is going to be played on. The cord of the sensor bar is long enough that you can place it correctly and still be able to put the wii console where you would like to.
The Wii uses a wireless remote for the controller. A "wiimote" is what I calls it! The Wiimote is pointed at the screen to play games, search through menus, etc… In order for the TV screen to pick up the Wiimote, it needs the Sensor Bar either below the screen or above it. The Wiimote picks up the slight energy from the sensor bar, and makes a connection with the TV! So now you can easily see your pointer on the TV and move it around with the Wiimote. The Wiimote picks up energy, so you can even put two candles (one on each side of TV) and use those as a sensor bar! (They have to be lit, of course.) So that, my friend, is how a sensor bar works. I hope that you do buy a Wii! I got mine on the day it was released, and I haven’t stopped playing it! The games are great and it’s affordable! It’s so much better than the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
it reads your movements
teh sensor bar is used to detect the motion that you are using on the wii remote
if you want to try something cool instead of using the sensor bar put two candles on top of your tv and it works! just in case you break your sensor bar then you don’t have to buy a new one.
it allows the wii remote to connect
the wii senser bar is wht the controler homes into in order to have the little hand float across the sreen
without it u would be able to click on anything
