Does the Wii Sensor Bar detect buttons you press on the Wii remote?

I just found out that the maximum distance from the sensor bar is 10ft, but does that include buttons (not motion). So would I be able to just use buttons further than 10ft away?

In theory yes, it depends on other things like if there is something between the wii and the wii remote. The sensor bar only detects the wii remotes pointing and movement, but the remote is connected to the wii itself using bluetooth so the buttons will work even without the sensor.
That is because the wii remote is wireless. You can still use the buttons with the sensor back unpluged. You just cant point and click anymore with the remote.
I would think so. the wii-mote sends out different signals when you press different buttons. as long as there is nothing blocking it you can go pretty far.
the wii-mote is actually a camera and the sensor bar has little inferred lights that the wii-mote follows thats how it figures out where your moving it .
p.s. if you take a digital camera or a camera phone and look at the sensor bar you’ll see little purple dots!

The Sensor bar doesn’t detect anything it’s just a bunch of IR LEDs. so I guess when you use candles the candles detect all of your Wii mote.
and yes buttons will still work.
