Sometimes, If a large mirror is in the room, the Wiimote will act as if the mirror is the T.V. I had the same problem. I'm not sure why, but it does.

The mirror shouldn't affect anything. What happens is, the Wii remote sends out pulses of infrared light, and the sensor bar picks up these pulses, allowing your character to move about on the screen. You can tell that it's the Wiimote that sends out the infrared (and not the sensor bar, like the post above me suggests) if you put the sensor bar sitting atop a shiny surface (like a mirror, or even just a slightly shiny wood table) the sensor bar won't be able to pick up the infrared as well and your movements on-screen won't be as smooth (in fact, the cursor might jump around a little).

In general, it's the Wiimote that's doing all the work (accelerometers and all) while the sensor bar SENSES the infrared from the Wiimote, not the other way around.

How the Wii remote and sensor bar work is the sensor bar shoot infrared light to be detected by the wii remote. a mirror may be intercepting the light and shooting it in the opposite direction. If the mirror is above the tv and sensor bar, it shouldn't be affecting anything. If the mirror is behind the player, there may be problems.
